RetirePay Canada

Data Saving and Deletion Policy

Last updated October 17, 2026

What is saved

RetirePay Canada saves your current plan: household settings, ages, province, retirement and benefit start ages, residence years, savings balances, contributions, income streams, spending targets, return and inflation assumptions, and display preferences. It keeps one current plan, not a version history.

Where and when

Entries are saved automatically in the app’s local storage shortly after a change. Calculations run on your device. There is no RetirePay Canada cloud account, cross-device plan sync, or server backup. Storage failures or closing the app immediately after an edit can prevent saving; local storage is not a guaranteed backup.

How long

Your saved plan remains until you replace or reset it, remove the app’s data, or delete the app. Device cleanup, loss, damage or storage failures may remove it earlier. There is no automatic expiry.

Resetting and deleting

In Plan, open About this app and choose Reset to the example plan. Confirm Reset. This replaces your saved entries with the example figures. It does not erase CSV files, support emails, device backups or Apple purchase records. On iOS, Delete App removes its local app data; Offload App preserves documents and data. Manage backups separately in your device or backup service settings.

CSV files

Export creates a temporary CSV in the app cache before opening the share sheet. Resetting the plan does not clear previously created cache files. Temporary files may remain until the operating system clears the cache or the app is deleted. Copies saved to Files, email, cloud drives or other destinations remain there until you delete them separately. A CSV is a report; the app currently has no CSV import or plan-restore feature.

Device backups and transfers

Operating-system backups or transfers may copy local app data according to your settings. Restoring a backup may restore an earlier plan. We cannot inspect or delete those backups. Do not assume deleting the app erases existing backups.

Paid features and purchase records

Restoring a Full Plan purchase restores eligible access through Apple, not your saved financial plan. Resetting your plan will not cancel or refund a purchase. Apple handles transaction records under its own policies.

Security and help

The current app uses ordinary app-local storage and device protections, not a separately encrypted financial vault. Use a device passcode, secure backups and share exports carefully. For questions or deletion of support correspondence, email support@retirepay.ca. We cannot recover a lost local plan.
